You didn't say where the leak was coming from - was it at the seal with the
block or from the area of the head of the bolt in the center of the canister?
I had a problem with mine leaking around the bolt head and could cure it to
save my life. I ended up putting a number of tiny rubber bands around the
bolt just below the head to seal it against the canister (rubber bands from a
kid's braces work perfectly!) I know, I know, eventually I'll be castigated
as a DPO, but at least my car has stopped "marking its territory" all over my
driveway.
If you get replies off the list, I'd be interested in hearing how it comes
out!
