She isn't much. I mean if your looking for a sports car there are
probably a hundred other makes that would out run, out corner and out stop
her.I just love sports cars. I put in a tape every now and then on legendary
sports cars that I taped off the Discovery Channel. They pan around a car
and show the beauty of their lines, the dash layouts and engine
compartments. On a Bugatti they then advance it ,push the primer and start
her with a joyful noise . All the cars are racing types. They then take a
spin in them, accelerating , shifting, braking then down shifting on and on.
The type 35, a "C" type Jag., Ferrari. I listen and smile. You can feel
their power even on a 19" screen.
But, she's not like that. True, she has, in my eyes classic lines.
She's eager to rev when I put my foot in her. But she isn't a racer. Her two
seats put me as close to my wife as I wish and hope to always be. My wife
understands us and our relationship. I am helping her get back her beauty.
mending her tattered carpets, replacing seals, etc. She's letting me blow
off the pressures of work and raising a family. She's letting me remember
the days when I first met my wife, 25+ years ago. We rode around in one
just like her. My first car!! We're very close. And, so is my wife and I!
I forgive her for not being fast and powerful. And she forgives me for
my unfullfilled dreams . If we were each different would we cling to each
other so? If she were brutish and expensive would I dare to take on her
upkeep. Or if I were a CEO would I be caught dead in such a low end sports
car. I'm glad life is as it is. Filled with good work and healthy, joyous
play. The GT6 is getting prettier every day and I hope to enjoy her for a
long time. She's a keeper!!!
