Thanks for the welcome back!

I "sorta" drove from the passenger seat. I was alone, so I sat on the left
edge of the passenger seat, with my legs twisted, using my left foot on the
gas pedal. I could get by with this because I was driving on a very straight,
nearly flat, mostly empty, stretch of secondary highway going through Iowa.
When I was about to meet a car, I slipped back into the correct position till
it passed. I guess I met about one car an hour on that road, more or less.

No, wisdom doesn't always come with old age! It was probably not a good thing
to drive like that, but I was desperate, as the left side of my face was
nearing the "well done" state by then, and I had forgotten to pack my sun
screen.  It was WAY too hot to raise the window and use a towel to screen the
sun.
