Nardi Steering Wheel Adapter?

I just bought an older Nardi steering wheel (with the polished mahogany rim) as 
a surprise for my wife's '71 TR6.   Of course, the adapter included does not 
appear to properly "interface" with the 6's steering column ;-). 

Best price I can find for a new (correct) adapter is $135! (special order, 2-3 
months!).

Any other suggestions? Anyone have an old adapter laying about?
