Rover V8 in 2500 PI?

G'day,

I'm considering the possibly stupid idea of putting a Rover V8 into a
Triumph 2500 PI Mk 2. Actually, some previous owner converted the PI to
twin Strombergs quite a few years back, so really it's a 2500 TC with the
PI trim. Anyway, has anyone tried such a project before? I know the TR7 ->
Rover V8 conversion happens a bit... what about the old 2500 saloon?
