Coolant leaks

Sorry to bomb this thread, but can anybody offer comments about radiator
stop-leak? I have 2 reasons for asking:

1. my head gasket is weeping coolant, and may deteriorate before I can
afford to replace it;

2. I have been consulting a fabricator of copper head gaskets; they advise
that it is sometimes necessary to use stop-leak with their gaskets, to
prevent coolant leakage!
