Ken, understand.  The reason that I put the rear of the cover on first is that
I find that it is easier to connect the "lift the dot" sections in the rear
without any tension on the cover.   I find that when applying tension it is
easier to push down straight down on the regular snaps across the dash rather
than pull the rear snaps over the male part of the "lift the dot" and then
push down.

BTW - I leave the cover on my TR4 almost all the time.  That way if I park the
car I can quickly and easily close up the tonneau by snapping the front snaps
and zipping up the cover.  That keeps people out of the car and protects the
interior from the weather.  When I am driving alone I unzip the cover and fold
the part (that was over the driver's seat) back under the rear section of the
cover.  If I have a passenger, I unsnap the front of the cover and fold the
whole thing back underneath the rear part of the cover.  Works well for me and
saves wear and tear on the interior.  Cheers.
