Now far be it for me to defend MG's but aren't you forgetting the MGB GT 
V8 which had the same V8 in it about a decade before? Also what about 
the  MG maestro turbo? 150 bhp stock with carbs. Biggest threat has to be 
MG metro 6R4, 410 bhp, four wheel drive and an engine that later went 
into the jag XJ220. I know that tony Pond said the TR7 V8 felt faster 
than the MG but he was talking to Triumph World and i don't beleive 
everything they say!!!!:-)
