Gernot,

I think he is referring to the adapter hub, not the knock-off.

Try a six sided socket on a breaker bar and tap this with a BFH.  Don't
hit too hard, you are trying to loosen the rust that is holding it in
place.  It might not hurt to give a few tightening taps to break them
free.
