   Hi LIst.
As I am working on the fiberglass hood project a couple of things
have aroused my curiosity. We disasembled a rotted out hood for the inner
fender panels to build the molds on and noticed that there is a single
aluminum pop rivit in the center of each one. Nothing is attached to it or
looks like it ever has been. We found the same rivit on every hood in our
collection, both GTs and Spits. The only exception was the 69 GT. What the
heck is that rivit for?
Also on the same inner fender wells we found holes in the flange
where the two pieces are welded togeather. There were three along each flange
and once agian the 69 did not have the same holes.....just a flange. I suspect
that the holes were used to jig up later model hood pieces for welding, but
does anyone know for sure.
            Thanks in advance!
