This thread about dipping got me thinking about a tip that I heard a few
weeks ago. It seemed so obvious I was suprised I hadn't heard about it, or
thought to do it!
The age old question is how to treat the internal sections of our beloved
cars after dipping, blasting, welding, repairing, etc., etc. The box
sections of a frame is just too long for a spray gun to coat recessed areas
well. The same goes with inner sills, and other areas in a tub that have no
easy means of access.
My buddy was treating an area with POR-15. He poured too much out of the
can and didn't want to waste it. So he got an old sand blasting gun, hooked
up a small diameter tube to the siphon hose connection, and set his
compressor up to 100+ psi. He poked the business end of the blasting gun
into a frame section and pulled the trigger. He said he had great seepage
all along the frame rail, and lots of mist came out the holes.
I imagine he got great coverage in there. I also imagine he made quite a mess!
Am I missing something, or does this sound like a good idea?
