My now much faded data sheets indicate a 30psi reading at hot idle and 60-70
psi at 3500rpm. Given the fact that the scale on the oil pressure gauge
isn't all that precise, a reading of around 70-75psi suggests nothing is
wrong. This is certainly the reading I'm getting on Canley Girl's injection
engine in a saloon. While on that general subject, how many of you have
fitted a higher rate spring to the oil pressure switch? Instead of
illuminating the warning light at say 0-5psi (the factory setting), this
higher pressure spring does the business at around 25psi. It was one of the
first mods I carried out and as my central warning light cluster is more
like a searchlight than a pea bulb, there's no way I can miss seeing it.
That said, my eyesight isn't what it once was so I've also wired the OP
warning light circuit into a 'lights on' warning buzzer.
