<<Is it bad to have 80-90 lbs oil pressure at, say 3500 RPM, 4th gear (no
O/D), highway speeds? Drops to 50 or so around town. If bad, is there a
fix?>>
Michael,
How many miles on engine - perhaps you have thicker oil than you need - or
God forbid - that honey-like additive stuff from cheap auto stores? Guage
could be goofy (what does it read with engine off?) Can you see oil come out
of number 7 or 8 valve rocker bleeder hole from looking under the valvecover
cap? If you start a cold engine and see oil from a rocker hole very quicky
that's a good sign - then maybe like Randall says you can 'turn out' valve
pressure screw located in oil filter assembly to get the 'manual specified'
70lbs at 2000 revs. For my TR4, 70 lbs is the highest you should see even at
the highest rpms.
Carl
'64 TR4 since '74 temporarily with no oil pressure but certainly a lot of
pressure to get my car fully restored!
