Listers,   Regarding the question about using a sealant along with the
rubber windshield seal:  I recently had my non-LBC windshield replaced by a
major auto glass outfit.  They said that they no longer use silicone sealant
because it retains moisture and causes rust.  They have switched to a
urethane sealant.  FWIW
