The valve cover should not be a problem regardless of year. Meanwhile, a
Mk3 exhasut manifold should fit your Mk2/+, but I don't think a "Mk1"
manifold will. Head design is very different, with "straight ports" on
the earlier engine, while the Mk2 and later heads had "staggered" ports.
