I use a little silicone glue(like the engine gasket stuff) between the pads and
calipers. It basically takes away the air gaps(and dampens the tendency to
resonate at low pedal pressure) between the caliper and pad. I've seen where
Moss sells a 4 pack of thin pads(filled with foil) to do essentially the same
thing. Many cars came with thin sheet aluminum(called anti-squeal pads) pads as
standard equipment. The TR7 may have actually come with some but might have
gotten 'lost or tossed' in a brake job of a DPO. Good luck!
