A question for all the purists out there...
Anyone know what the factory color was for the TR6 exhaust manifold (the
heavy cast iron thing)? Other than that exquisite shade of cast iron rust
they all seem to be nowadays that is.

Peter - I spoke to my elder brother about your question. He owned a 'home
market' 74 TR6 when it was 3 years old. There was certainly no sign of any
paint/coating on the exhaust manifold his 3 year old car. He cannot remember
seeing any manifolds that were not unpainted rust. I suspect that if any
coating was applied at the factory it did not last very long.
