We do not use alloy flywheels, simply because of cost. The Midget/Spitfire 1500 flywheel is a great basis for a competition unit. You can easily put 200hp thru a 6 1/2 inch ceramic clutch fitted to this flywheel. Some tricks with cast iron flywheels; ensure the ring gear holds it all together never reduce mass near flywheel bolts have it perfectly balanced use a scatter shield Terry O'Beirne TR5, GT6 racer ,2500 racer etc etc |
