What is a 'dash fiter' ( see below)

The general feeling around the marque Guhrus is that the vinyl coated
dash fiters in in the late 60,000 early 70,000 commission numbers.
You guys with them original cars let me know the histories on your Dash
coverings. Maybe we can narrow this down with a little more information.
