In a group a parts I recently aquired, I got an early chrome valve cover
that has a strange vent on one end. The vent is about 1" by 2" and is on a
bout a 30 degree angle. I was wondering if anyone had ever seen one like it
before? It appears to be after market but I'm not sure. thevent is chrome
and matches the cover. I tried to attach a pic of it and send to everyone
but it has not yet made it.

Sounds like a TR4 VC used with the Stromberg carbs. Only the vent is more
like a pipe and is located in the middle of the VC. Not on the end as you say.
