Nuts & Bolts

Since I bought a kit version of my TR3 a few years ago (you know, came in
multiple boxes and pieces), I constantly find that bolts are missing.
Simply identifying which of the 573 miscellaneous bolts/screws that came in
jars belong where has been a challenge, to put it mildly.

Anyway, I have a copy of the TR2/3 Spare Parts Catalogue and the Bentley
service manual, '76 edition. (I purchased both in the early 80's at Cox
and Buckles on trip to Europe, and d**m glad I did!) . The recent thread
got me excited, so I sat down and started a spread sheet. At this point,
I've pretty much finished the steering, front suspension, and half the body.

It's been a bit depressing. At this point, I've counted 968
nuts/bolts/washers in 125 unique part numbers. I have the TRF price list,
also in Excel, so I'll do a lookup and see which parts may be the same even
though they have different numbers. I expect this task to take another day
or so, then I'll find a place to post the spreadsheet for folks.

I have noticed that the spare parts catalogue isn't complete - it didn't
list the screws that secure the vent lid to the scuttle. Luckily, TRF did,
so that got in. However, the list will probably need scrubbing.

Mark, that photocopy you posted is excellent! I'd love to see the rest.

Also the list of bolt numbers and torques for the engine and suspension
components is in the service manual, so I'll see about getting that scanned
and posted as well as included in my list.
