David - the only addition to Gary's suggestions would be an official parts
catalog (original or reprint - doesn't matter). Although there are gaps
because of changeovers, etc. (not many for early TR3A's) the exploded views
are extremely helpful plus you have the correct part number to chase down
anything that is missing or beyond repair.

One picture is worth a thousand words and Bill Piggott's book, Original
Triumph TR2/TR3/TR3A, has a lot of pictures and the words to back them up.
If I had to choose one book for restoration, it would be this book. You
will
also need a good book on the mechanicals, I have a reprint of the original
TR
repair manual which has been adequate, but a lot of people swear by the
Haynes manual, if you can find one.
