Absolutely! Just did it. I assume your diff is still in the car, so...

Disconnect prop shaft. Remove split pin, then nut (I used ebrake to keep
things from turning). You'll need a seal puller (~$10?) to pry the old one
out. A bit difficult as there's not much room under there. You can pry in
only a couple of spots, but it should come out. It won't look very good, but
who cares?

To get the new one in, I cut a piece of 3/4" plywood into a donut shape
(center hole to fit around pinion shaft) and used a hammer to hit the
plywood to press the new seal in place. Relatively painless, just dirty.

Make sure car is securely on jack stands as the torque on the nut is
substantial (85 ft lbs if memory serves).
