<<...refurbishing the floor pans in the 65 4A and, on the
drivers side, up in the corner on the floor under the dimmer switch, I came
across a round rubber plug (I guess) in the floor. About the size of a
half-dollar maybe. What's it for? Just curious.

Jim it's in case it rains and fills your tub with water you can pop the plugs
and drain your car..
been there - done that ( the size is more like a quarter and there is one on
the passenger side and behind each seat)
