My 1962 TR4 came with a tube radio that was a two piece affair. The "guts"
was mounted to the backside of the "H" shaped dash support that straddled
the transmission cover. On the front side of support was the faceplate and
knobs to tune the AM radio. The dial had "Triumph" silk-screened or painted
on the plate. The speaker was enclosed in a metal box with a triangular
cross-section installed in the passenger side footwell such that the back
was parallel to the side of the car and the top surface mounted parallel to
the underside of the bulkhead. The speaker face was thus angled at about 45
degrees downward and toward the transmission cover. To handle the radio in
the dash support, the solid top section of the "H" was replaced by one with
holes for the tuning and volume shafts to protrude through. Hope this helps.

Cheers
Keith Stewart
