Phil - it may work, but I believe the proper alignment is for the lifting
end (more pointed side) is toward the outer edge of the top/tonneau.

Not good.  The top will lift the dot itself, and thereby remove itself.

On my TR4, the dots on the fasteners on the back edge of the top face away
from the center.  In other words, they face so that you come to the next
snap so your fingers reach the dot side first as you are working your way
from the door to the rear center.  When you reach the center, you walk
around the car and start unsnapping from the other door.
