If the milage on the Speedometer, and the emissions counter both match,
along with the green hoses (only TRF makes these now, and then only
sporadically and recently). I would be convinced it was original. Overall
condition of the car could be a good inicator. Mechanically if the
Speedometer has been changed there is no way on a Triumph to tell.

An option is to do a search on the title. Previous titles will show mileage
and/or discrepancies. There are many companies on the net that do this,
however, most of them will only accept VIN numbers and have no way of doing
Commission numbers. You could do this yourself, but it would be tedious.

Fellow Listers,

Is there a way to certify that the mileage shown on an odometer is
original? A buddy ,two years ago, purchased a '76 TR6 with 18,000
original miles on it. It has all the green hoses and stuff and the
counter under the bonnet corresponds to the odometer.

Thanks for Frank
