Mike,
Not sure this helps, but most rotors have the minimum thickness stamped onto
the outer rim of the rotor.  To see it clearly, rub sand paper around the
rim, and the stampings should show themselves through the surface rust.
Them compare your readings to those stampings.

I'm in the middle of dealing with restoring the front disc brakes on my 3A,
and wondered if anyone had the spec for the minimum thickness for the
rotors. Mine seem fine for runout, but I wouldn't mind getting them skimmed.
I know the manuals allow for s 6thou cut, but nowhere can I find a min.
thickness spec - and I'm not sure if these have ever been lightly skimmed
before.
Currently they're .4275" and .4150"
