When I removed the body of my TR3A from the frame, I placed it on a wooden
support frame that I could roll around the garage. Having the ability to
roll the body around made life much easier during the restoration process.
The only problem that I had is that I used some 2" casters that were in my
basement. They were too small, a 4" or larger caster would have worked mush
better. The wooden frame was about 2 feet tall. Even at 2 feet I needed a
step-stool to sand and paint the scuttle. And because it was only 2 feet
tall, it made painting the underside a little difficult. If you could figure
a way to adjust the height as needed let the rest of us know. What ever
height that you choose, support the body in the middle and near both ends.
This will lessen the chance of distorting the body. Also, if replacing the
floor panels remove and replace only one at a time. This will help keep the
body square and true.
