We still buy our beer in pints too! Although not in pre packed form then it is metric. I am sure our European cousins what to change that also. The squiggly lines seen on the helicopter video footage are probably the ones that are either side of a pedestrian crossing point. They extend so many yards (sorry meters) in each direction. There is no parking and no overtaking in this zone. It is a safety thing.
