The saga of the TR6 OD gearbox gone bad continues. I now have it opened up
on the bench and upon examination I find that the 1st gear synchro is jammed
in the synchro hub. No back and forth movement at all. Some slight around
movement. the 2nd gear synchro is only slightly better. The 3rd & 4th gear
synchros move around quite liberally within the hub. Being "Gearbox Dumb" I
have no idea whats going on but this can`t be normal can it? I looked at an
old box I have and all the synchros move back and forth freely in the hubs.
Can anybody Help? I guess I am being paid back for the last A-type OD
gearbox I bought from Scott Harper @ Team Triumph for $400.00, slapped it in
the Four and drove away with a big grin since it was perfect.
