I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and my latest purchase. I'm
new to Triumphs, but am familiar with LBC's, as I currently own a MGB V8.
The latest purchase was hardly planned, but I guess that happens.
I just purchased a '75 TR7 coupe for a few hundred dollars. I don't know a
lot about the car yet, as it's only been in the garage for a couple of days.
Car looks complete, but will take a couple of weeks to get it back on the
road. Body is fair, outer sills are gone, interior needs the usual
freshening, and the electrics are in the usual DPO state. Engine seems
strong (135 psi compression across all four), but runs rich, and idles too
fast (needs a complete tune-up).
I intend to patch the car up, and put it on the road as a daily driver, at
least for the time being.
As I'm sure I will have a few questions over the next couple of weeks, I'll
start with just a basic question until the shop manual arrives.
1. I've downloaded the Moss catalog so I could get a set of sills on order.
I could not find the sills in the TR7 section of the catalog. I did find the
sills in the Spitfire section of the catalog (867-340, 867-350), are these
the same items on both cars?
