The speedometer has not worked in the car for the year and a half I've had
the car, and supposedly for six years with a previous owner. I replaced the
cable and voila! The speedometer jumped to life - well sort of; the
speedometer worked for about three miles (according to the odometer), and
then stopped working. I disconnected the cable and saw that the inner cable
(the spinning part) was not moving (the same problem with the old cable).
Any thoughts about what is going on and what to do next?
