The end result of my efforts in the task of replacing the lugs and having
stripped holes in the hub was that I had to replace the hub. I used red locktite
and peening - big mistake!

The two stripped lugs spun when trying to torque the lug nuts while attaching
the wheel. Now I have a wheel that I can't get off the car because I can't
remove the lug nuts - the lugs are spinning. After much aggravation trying to
solve this problem the wrong way, I bought 3 extremely hard and expensive drill
bits (different sizes) as well as a quality drill motor and drilled out the
offending lugs in about 10 minutes time each. In the case of the front hubs,
used ones are plentiful and cheap and I had many offers from fellow listers for
which I'm eternally grateful.

I don't know about the TR3 rear hubs though. I think red locktite might be OK
but I wouldn't tack weld. If they're splined or reeded in place like a TR4A and
stripped like mine were - I'd replace the hub. Having a wheel that can't be
removed because the lugs are spinning is probably not as bad as the water pump
thing I just read but is pretty close. Now that my wheels are OK, the water pump
will probably be my next stroke of LBC luck!
