i have enjoyed reading the replies to 'rolf' question. now i am curious on
engine perf. here is what i have done (first drive will be today btw):
engine is rebuilt. new high dome pistons (from london!) bored .040 over.
reground hi-perf cam (mid grind for driveability), hardened valves and seats
(new), new rocker arm. electronic ignition (the kind that replaces the
points), high voltage coil, bosch platinum plus plugs. rebuilt the carbs.
monza exaust. an exaust header seemed too pricey - it was a few hundred
dollars from what i remembered. for a short single pipe that seemed expensive
(unless - does it include the exaust manifold ???). someone mentioned an
electric fan. that seemed like a great idea and should be reasonable price.
anyone know what brand etc. and where to get one ? will it come with a proper
fitting belt for alternator ? would it include mounting bracket to radiator ?
so, with the mods i have done - what can i expect for increase in power as it
stands today ? perhaps 10% - 10 h.p. ?
thanks ! larry (lstein6@earthlink.net) oops 72 gt6.
