As a general rule of thumb, at the tire shop I used to run, we would torque
steel wheels to 85 ft lbs and alloys to 100 ft lbs.  Most of the time we
used special torque limiting impact sockets for that.  It was amazing how
accurate they were.  They would even tame my I-R impact.
