Out of curiosity . .. does anyone know of a case where someone has done a
conversion on old cast wheels so that tapered lug nuts can be used instead
of ones with cylindrical shanks and shoulders.
(and with washers of course)
I can see all sorts of potential engineering pitfalls in attempting to do
something like that.
I guess another question would be if anyone knows of another method to
better "center" the wheel on the hubs rather than relying on the old
straight holes in the wheel itself.
Precision mounted locating pins perhaps?
