I am looking for some history on a 73 TR6 CF8192. I am the third owner since
a frame off resto that happened approximately 10 years ago. I think that the
work took place in the Midwest. It was then sold to someone in New Jersey who
sold it to a guy in the NY city who sold it to me. The car runs great and is
unique enough that I hope someone on the list recognizes it.

Originally sapphire blue it was repainted red. During the restoration it
mated with a Datsun 260 because it now has many Datsun components. It has the
260 wheel and steering column and all of the dashboard switches and ignition
have been moved to the column and stalks. The car now sports intermittent
wipers and a neat delay on the kidney pad mounted courtesy lights that slowly
dims the lights after you close the door. The entire car was rewired and has
terminal blocks at the front corners for easy trouble shooting. The fuse
block has been replaced with a Datsun panel located in the passenger side
firewall and all the devices and accessories are wired independently. Under
the hood a yellow Hitachi alternator provides plenty of amps for the lights
and stereo. The Datsun also donated its overflow and windscreen washer
bottles. The distributor has been converted to electronic ignition with a
motorcraft control box. There is a blanking plate where the fuel pump should
be and I haven't found the electric pump yet. The dash is completely custom
with a VDO clock and oil temperature gauge in addition to the full complement
of Smiths gauges. Big red hazard lights from the earlier 72 models serve as
turn indicators and a yellow overdrive light sits where the hazard light would
normally reside. The dash is finished in low maintenance woodgrained plastic
laminate.

If you know anything about the origin of this car please contact me off list.
I would like to know if any work was done to the engine. I really like the
car and it has been trouble free for the past three years.

Thanks to all, this list has been a goldmine.
