Now, that is an overstatement.  It is actually about 3-4 months in the fall
and spring that are quite nice.  There are 6 - 8 weeks in the summer when
it is miserable and 6-8 weeks in the winter when it is really cold.  There
is a reason this is called the temperate zone.
