> There's also the improved heat trasfer effect. Can't prove it, but I believe even Alfin drums actually don't transfer heat as well as solid iron drums do, because of the steel/aluminum interface. The Alfin process improves the interface a good deal over just butting the two together, but the transition still causes a bigger barrier than the improved conduction of the aluminum can make up for. I'm also not certain that the Datsun drums use the Alfin process. Is anyone else ? Randall |
