You do not have the linkage connected on the front carb correctly, using a
Moss cataloge the center linkage # 36 connects to the # 33 jet lever on the
"OUTSIDE" of the jet lever, the "U" shaped connector does "NOT" insert
around the jet lever as it does on the rear carb, take a look # 39 pin &
cable clamp, the pin goes through the "U" linkage all the way and then
through the jet lever and then your choke cable is held in place on the
"inside" of the carb by the cotter pin and nut and bolt , the back lcarb
linkage is as it looks only the front is odd looking, also remove the "jet
assembly" and file the gas outlet holes slightly just to clean them up and
then use a buffer to get a mirro finish, the more buffin the better. No you
do not need to take the inners out of the carb to remove the let assembly,
it will pull straight down and straight back up. I'll send you a photo image
