I am constantly amazed by the knowledge of the people here on the list,
especially about the non-triumph stuff.

I need some sort of drill-type device to make a flat bottomed drill hole

Here is what I am doing.... In a previous post I mentioned that I am making
some solid (aluminium, probably) carburetor mounting adapters for a TR7.

The issue here is that the manifold takes 3 bolts for mounting and the carbs
take 4, of course. Also, of course, the 3 manifold bolts interfere slightly
with the square base of the carburetors.

So, I need to countersink the 3 bolt heads into the adapter to mount it on the
manifold. I COULD drill out a hole, then drill a much wider spot to
countersink the head. However a drill would leave a slightly conical bottom.
Is there something to use to make a flat bottom hole in the adapter?
