David, I definitely removed mine without pulling the apron, although I don't
necessarily recall all the steps it took to do it.  Pretty sure I took the
radiator loose top & bottom, although perhaps I just tilted it forwards
after taking it loose.  Very tight quarters, but got it done.

Now reinstalling the fan, with the balance weights in the right position,
might well be a different question.  I didn't attempt that part.
