Went out there to Fed Ex field to watch some of the action today.
The trip out was fun. On the beltway I ran over some sort of bag or sack in
the road. I worried when it never showed up in my rear view mirror.
A few minutes later I heard and felt what is best described as my drive shaft
doing an impersonation of a giant weed wacker.

After a while of laying on the ground, face mashed up against the rocker panel,
slashing at the stuff with a razor knife . . I eventually had to jack it up and
get under there and unwind it. It was pretty much filling up the driveshaft
tunnel and shoving down on the exhaust. NICE!

the sack was sorta like one of those poly tarps . . . sorta like plastic
ribbons woven into a fabric sheet. Sorta like one of those poly-tarpalin
things. Tough mother to get out of there.

In any event. . . a while later I'm back on the road and dealing with the
wretched missery that is the Capital Beltway and the Wilson bridge.

Once at the event, I found all the Triumphisti that Bob Lang mentioned, and
even eventually found Bob. I had a great time talking Triumphs and watching
some of the action. While there were only three Triumphs there, at least it
could be called a "contingent" to do the marque proud. Didn't see a single MG
or other classic Brit sports car. (well .. maybe some Loti or Loti clones)

Bob wasn't real happy with his performance (the phenomenal performance of a
certain Porsche in his class didn't help) but he surely made some of those rice
boys stand up and take notice.

I'm out of room on this e-mail and out of gas.
I had fun. If any of you get a chance to go to an auto-x with some fellow
Triumphers . . . I suggest you give it a whirl.
