Any suggestions for a condition of seemingly no oil pressure in an A-Type
overdrive?
Reassembled it (used to work well before the car was off the road for a few
years) using the manual by Nelson Riedel published on the Buckeye Triumphs
site (very thorough!) and just replaced some thrust washers. Everything else
looked fine but, upon testing out of the car on a test stand with a gauge
screwed in the top I register no pressure whatsoever!
When unscrewing the gauge after running, very little evidence of any pressure
having built up under the operating valve.
Have tried to prime the oil pump by stuffing it with grease (providing a
suction effect?) and I know the gauge works.
I'm at my wit's end? I have lots of gaskets so I don't mind pulling it apart
again, but hate going on another wild goose chase.
