Which way'd it go?

I am replacing my tachometer cable on my TR6.  Several replacement cables
have broken, so I'd like to think the third time is a charm.  However, I'm
unsure of which way to connect it.  The inner portion of a tachometer cable
can be pulled out from one side, but not the other.  Which side goes toward
the distributor?
