IMO it depends on whether they are the early type calipers with the external
crossover tube or not.  The later ones would have to be disassembled to change
the O-ring between the halves (and be sure all the Chem-dip is out) ... which I
still don't think is a good idea.

But I don't see any problem with the early calipers, as long as you remove the
cross-over tubes and make sure they are clean.
