Hello, everyone.

I've gotten to the part of the frame-off restoration of a '59 TR3A at which I
actually begin upholstery. (One-quarter into my third year of this project,
those of you who've done it too have an idea how this step of putting seat
covers on restored frames and springs takes the dreams of driving this car
from the realms of ethereal fantasy, to solid ground.)

And ground is the issue. While I have the dash out and completely bared, and
am power brushing the thing clean front and back, I had thought to use POR-15
to restore the front of the metal dash forever. But...before I paint the rear
portion too, does the backside of the dash serve as a ground for any guages
etc? This for the big dash; I've crinkle painted the front of the center
dashpiece, and hope I can prime and enamel the back too?

As usual, thank you, everyone.

By the by. My wife came back from the beach two days early today, to find the
wooden tack strips I'd fabricated for my seat upholstery soaking in her tub in
preparation for curving. Querulously, puzzled, and slightly suspicious, she
said for the first time, "I think that car is the love of your life."

The wise part of me argued strenuously.
