Thanks for the reply. I hadn't started as yet, will do so today, so your 
advice arrived in time.  

Regarding the gasket dressing, all the literature I've read (and have been 
advised) is to dress all the surfaces, (seat, liner and gasket) that is what I 
plan to do.

Regarding your procedure for placing the gasket on the liner prior to placing 
in the block. It seems to have some merit. I noticed that when I trial placed 
the gasket and liner (to measure the deck hieght) that there appeared to be 
some abiguity in the gasket placement that your suggestion may resolve.

Regarding re-torque of the head... I've found this to be necessary also. As 
much as a PIA, worth the effort.
