Some of you may recall from last spring when I worked out a golf swap for a
wind blocker with Mark Walker. Well, it turned out that Mark lives outside
of Knoxville TN which is an area my wife and I wanted to explore for
retirement. When I told Mark that we were heading down there a couple of
weeks ago, he showed some true "Southern Hospitality". We checked in to our
hotel and there was a packet of information on the area that Mark had
prepared. We met to play golf at his favorite course and he insisted on
paying for our golf. We also got to meet his son who's a terrific golfer and
a great kid! After golf, Mark took us on a tour of the area showing us a few
golf communities. On the day we were leaving, we met Mark and his wife for
breakfast and he brought us a CD of Tennessee "redneck" humor as well an
Audio CD of a great golf book. After over two weeks away, we got home today
and there was a package from Mark with a book on Oak Ridge.
If you ever get to the Knoxville area, make sure you look up Mark. He's a
great guy even though I never got to see his TR250 ;-)
Mark....a huge THANK YOU from Jeanne and I. You made our trip to Knoxville,
a trip we'll always remember. We may very well end up moving there in a few
years.
